Course Overview
This course covers different remote replication configurations for PowerMax 2500, 8500, 2000 and 8000 arrays. The course also covers SRDF use cases, SRDF/Synchronous concepts and operations, SRDF/Asynchronous concepts and operations, and SRDF/Metro concepts and operations.
Who should attend
This course is intended for Dell employees, partners, and customers responsible for performing remote replication on PowerMax arrays.
Prerequisites
To successfully complete this course, students must have an understanding of:
- Virtual storage environments
- PowerMax storage arrays
- Windows and ESXi operating systems
- Unisphere for PowerMax and Solutions Enabler
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Compare the SRDF use cases.
- Explain SRDF/Synchronous replication, SRDF/Asynchronous replication, and SRDF/Metro.
- Perform SRDF/Synchronous operations using SYMCLI and Unsiphere for PowerMax.
- Perform SRDF/Asynchronous operations using SYMCLI and Unisphere for PowerMax.
- Implement SRDF/Metro using Unisphere for PowerMax.
